Ina Kancheva was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1977. She began studying opera when she was eighteen at the State Academy of Music in Sofia. At the age of twenty, she was selected for scholarship graduate training in The European Opera Center in Manchester, UK. She has taken part in many Master Classes of Irina Gavrilovici (Wien), Montserrat Caballe (Andorra), Raina Kabaivanska (Accademia Chigiana, Fondazione Arena di Verona), Leo Nucci (Fondazione Arena di Verona), Gianluigi Gelmetti (Accademia Chigiana). She studied with Raina Kabaivanska from whom she received a scholarship. Since 2005 She is continuing her preparations with Alessandro Vitiello.
Ina Kancheva is a recipient of numerous national and international prizes including Young Music Talents and Pantcho Vladigerov Music competition, Musician of the Year 2002 (Bulgaria), Montserrat Caballe International Competition (Andorra), Manuel Ausensi International Competition (Spain), Spiros Argiris International Competition (Italy), Debut International Competition(Germany). In 2004 edition of As.Li.Co (Italy), she's been qualified for the role of Gulietta from I Capuletti e I Montecchi. She has participated as a soloist in many festivals in Bulgaria, Spain, France, USA, Lebanon, Czech republic and many other.
She has performed with The European Opera Center and Covent Garden, the role of Celia from "Lucio Silla" and in Concert Programs of “Mozart and Contemporary”, where she has sung Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Elisetta (La Finta Gardiniera), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). Her other opera roles include the roles of Gilda, Violetta, Mimi, Liu (Bulgarian National Operas)…, Giulietta - I Capuletti(02/03), Violetta - La Traviata, Mimi - La Boheme(03/04), Gilda-Rigoletto (05/06) (Staatsoper Hannover); Maria/Somewhere girl - West Side Story (Teatro alla Scala); Doralice - Il ricco d'un giorno - A. Salieri (Teatro Filarmonico - Verona, Teatro Salieri - Legnago) etc. She also sang Gala concerts with RTVE Madrid, Concerts in Smetana Hall in Prague, Gala Concerts in Königin Elizabethzaal in Antwerpen, Galas for The Association of L'amics de Alfredo Kraus (Spain), The“Bells” by S.Rahmaninov with Balkan Philharmony Orchestra (Greece, Macedonia), Bilkent Simphony Orchestra – Ankara,Turkey. During 2004/05, she was a member of the opera studio of "Fondazione Arena di Verona".
Recently she has performed Micaela-Carmen, Violetta Valery-La Traviata both in Staatsoper Stuttgart 06/07 and La Contessa Folleville in Rossini’s Viaggio a Reims during Rossini Opera Festival 2007.
